Gosh his life is both an open and closed book sometimes I feel like he’s two different people.
- The middle child of three. The second son. Has a younger sister.
- When his sister got married he apparently gave her a GPS for her car as a present (keep in mind that this was in the early 2000’s)
A bunny kimono! The rabbits are wearing scarves and collars, and done in the common Japanese style of albino rabbits with red eyes. I really appreciate their gangly legs and feather-like ears, which give a sense of direction and almost leaf-like design to the rabbits. There are no flowers or any other design on the kimono itself, so if the rabbits were just sitting, they would be nearly circular and be more like polka-dots than flowers.
The obi here is amazing—though only a few flowers actually match the bright fuchsia color of the kimono, the little blue flowers and the yellow also match the tiny highlights on the rabbits’ collars and the whole thing is tied together very strongly with these three colors, plus the white highlights. This obi was MADE for this kimono—there is no juggling of nearly-there color or matching across the color wheel.
In addition, the lace under the obi (a very modern, almost “kimono hime” touch) as well as on the eri (collar) adds a lot of texture, as if the obi flowers are dripping onto the kimono. This coordination has no obijime or obiage but it might not need it. I could perhaps see another striped obiage added here, but it would have to be a pastel and not fight for dominance with these two extremely bright pieces.
